Doris Zimmerman Baldwin, born Nov. 11, 1919, passed away quietly and peacefully at her home Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015.
She was born in Mt. Morris, Ill., to parents Milo and Hazel Zimmerman.
At Northwestern University she met the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Baldwin, whom she married during the early part of World War II.
Upon retirement, Doris and Dick moved to Venice, Fla., for the warm winters, but continued to spend summers at their cabin in Michigan for many years.
Doris is survived by her four children, Diane Baldwin (Ernest Murphy) of Venice, Fla., Susan (Jon) Hoover of Elk Rapids, Mich., Robert (Cathy) Baldwin of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Nancy (Rob) Letts of East Jordan, Mich.; her grandchildren, Megan Bartley (Matthew Miller), Taylor Murphy (Michelle Kimbrough), Evan Murphy, Sara (Austin) Gunther, Lisa (Brigham) Facer, Kyle Hoover, Lauren Guesman, Michelle (Michael) Cortes, Joshua Baldwin, Emily (Isaac) Wolfgang and Maureen Letts; and four great-grandchildren, with a fifth on the way.
She is also survived by her younger brother, Bryant Zimmerman, of Hillsborough, Calif., and nieces and nephews in California, Florida and Washington. Her older brother, Ward Zimmerman, died in 1979.
