Ralph Dean Firth, age 88, a resident of Cowgill, Missouri, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015, at Golden Age Nursing Home, Braymer, Missouri.
Ralph was born the son of Clarence and Ruth (Towne) Firth on July 28, 1926, in Cowgill, Missouri. He served in the United States Army in the Fifth Infantry Division. Ralph was united in marriage to DeLoris Maxine Brookshier on October 15, 1951 in Cowgill, Missouri. She preceded him in death on March 4, 2007. He farmed his entire life and worked as a school bus driver for the Cowgill School District for 38 years. His hobbies included painting, drawing, and all types of artwork. Ralph and DeLoris enjoyed making and decorating cakes for special occasions. He was a member of the Cowgill Fire Department and the Cowgill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Ralph loved his family and had a special bond with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include one son Dennis Firth and wife Sheila of Cowgill, Missouri; one daughter Denise Firth of Stanberry, Missouri; sister-in-law Doris DeLisle and husband William of Springfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Luke Lee, Christine Murphy, Wesley Lee, Carrie Lee, Ashley Wattenbarger, Nicole Firth, and Angel Shirk; seven great-grandchildren, Skyla, Emily, Hunter, Chelsey, and Gunner Lee, Ethan Wattenbarger, and Ashlynn Murphy; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife DeLoris; and one sister Velma Jean Firth.

Funeral services will be held at the Cowgill Baptist Church, Cowgill, Missouri, on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, February 2, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, February 2, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the Cowgill Cemetery, Cowgill, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cowgill Baptist Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
