LAWLER, James Thomas "Jim" 88, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away Jan. 29, 2015. He went peacefully to his rest after residing in St. Petersburg since 1989.

He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence Thomas and Marguerite Kelly Lawler.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Annette Lawler, and his children, Mary (Doug) Krieger, Jim (Barbara) Lawler, Matt Lawler, David (Karen) Lawler, Amy (Daly) McAfee, and his sister, Patricia L. Sullivan, and his grandchildren, Chris (Audrey) Thomas, Ryan (Jackie) Krieger, Adam Krieger, Chris (Angie) Lawler, David Lawler, Kelly (Greg) Sheen, Ben Lawler, Sarah Lawler, Riley McAfee, Meghan McAfee, and great grandchildren, Keegan Lawler & 2 "on the way."

Jim was born in Marion, Ohio January 10, 1927. He graduated from Marion Catholic High School in 1945. He was in the Navy in WWII from 1945-1947. He attended Xavier University and obtained his Bachelor's Degree at Ohio Northern and his Master's Degree from The School Up North. He taught at Harding High School in Marion, Ohio from 1953-1956. He was Head Coach of the High School Basketball team and Assistant Coach of the High School Football team. He was a Sales Representative at Reichhold Chemicals for 25 years.

His passion was Sports. He was an avid golfer, achieving 5 Hole-in-Ones in his Lifetime. He was a Member of the Isla Del Sol YCC and won 2 Club Member-Guest Championships, one with his son, Jim, and one with his son-in-law, Daly.

In his lifetime, Jim had a passion for making life easier for those he loved. He was instrumental in developing, fundraising, and designing The Starlight School for Special Needs Children in Newark, Ohio. He served on the School Board at Lakewood High School in Hebron, Ohio for 7 years. Jim Lawler was a true enigma. The Love of His Life for over 60 years, Annette, gave his world meaning. He raised 5 Children with truth without preaching, leadership without dominating, loving with all his heart and soul while maintaining indescribable humor and wit. All who were fortunate to know him loved him. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 2nd, at 10:00 a.m. at The Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in St. Petersburg, FL.

In Westerville, Ohio, a Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at the Medallion Country Club on Sunday, February 8th, 2015, from 4:00-4:30, with a Reception following from 4:30-7:00 p.m.
