Helen L. Draper 84 of Big Spring died Friday January 30, 2015 in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Monday February 02, 2015 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev Mark Lindsey officiating.
Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring.
Helen was born March 25, 1930 in Petersburg, Texas to Marian and Gladys (Lovelady) Simpson. Helen moved to Lubbock when she was three years old where she attended public schools and Texas Tech. Helen married Bill Draper August 19, 1949. They purchased Faye’s Flowers and moved to Big Spring in 1954. Helen was a talented floral designer and made many brides happy with her perfectly designed wedding bouquets. Helen and Bill retired in 1988 and spent several years traveling in their beloved motor home.
Helen’s first love was the youth department of her church where she served for many years. At the time of her death she was a member of First Baptist Church and attended the Chapel Sunday School Class.
Helen is survived by her husband of 65 years Bill Draper of Big Spring; two sons David Draper and wife Sara of Midland and Kelly Draper of Llano; one grandson Jason Draper and family of Big Spring; and one granddaughter Stephanie Proctor and family of Midland.
