Mrs. Ben R. Bentley, 75, of Bolivar, pioneer resident of Denton county, died at 8 a.m. Sunday at her home after suffering a stroke of apoplexy.

Mrs. Bentley was born in Bolivar Oct. 7, 1871, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Nance. She was married in Bolivar in 1887.

Surviving her besides her husband, are six sons, Clifford Bentley, Gainesville, Herman Bentley, Lewisville, Dallas Bentley, Panhandle City, Bill Bentley, Sanger, and Ben R. Jr. and Marshall Bentley, of Bolivar; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Harvey, Bolivar, and Mrs. Major Moore, Sanger; three sisters, Mrs. Julia Burkholder and Mrs. J.D. Waide, Sanger, and Mrs. Claude Walker, Fort Worth; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. today in the Bolivar Church of Christ with Henry Lynch, minister of the Sanger Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in the Masonic cemetery. --Denton Record-Chronicle (Denton, Texas); Monday, 30 Dec 1946; pg. 2
