Charles Durward Ethridge, age 82, died Thursday, January 29, 2015.

Charles was born in Quitman, GA to the late Floyd Hall Ethridge and the late Ruby Statham Ethridge. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base where he worked as an electronics technician and was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed spending his free time watching television and whenever possible spending time with his grandchildren. He was known to be a great conversationalist who was never at a loss for words and could always find somebody to talk to.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Andrea Kim Arnold.

He is survived by his devoted wife of over 55 years, Betty Tarver Ethridge of Macon, 2 sons; Charles Darrell Ethridge of Gray and Paul Jared Ethridge of Athens, 4 grandchildren; Kristopher Kirk Arnold of Macon, Kacie Brittany Jones (Jonathan) of Forsyth, Connor Ethridge and Tarver Ethridge both of Athens as well as a sister, Eleanor Ruth Thompson of Macon.

A graveside service to celebrate Charles’s life will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 2:00 pm in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Bishop Ryan Dixon officiating.

Crest Lawn Funeral Home has charge of funeral and burial arrangements.
