According to the McHenry Plaindealer (McHenry IL) Thursday, May 1, 1930, page 8: “BEN MARTIN – Ben Martin, about 47 years old, died suddenly at his home near Round Lake Monday night. He is survived by his wife and five children. Clarence Martin of this city is a brother. Funeral services were held at Round Lake at 10 o’clock this Thursday morning with burial at Wauconda.”
