ARMSTRONG, Frank H. Jr of Florence, 86, passed away January 28, 2015. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Army-National Guard and a veteran of the Korean War. He was also retired from Tennessee Valley Authority and worked there for 36 years. Frank was preceded in death by his father Frank Henry Armstrong, Sr. and his mother Jean White Armstrong. He was a loving husband to wife Sandra Armstrong and leaves his legacy with his sons, David Armstrong and Stephen Armstrong, as well as his daughters Amber Armstrong Capell, Fran Peterman Woodruff, and Natalie Johnson, who was like a daughter. He is also survived by his brother Raymond Lewis Armstrong. His grandchildren include Alexander Henry Capell, Wade Armstrong, Reed Armstrong, Liz Peterman Woodruff, and Daniel Peterman. Pallbearers will be David King, Jeff Corder, Jan Corder, Mike Muse, Bill Armstrong, and Burt Armstrong. Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Capell, Leldon Jones, Brent Calloway, Jean Gasper, and Danny Slover. Visitation will take place on January 31, 2015 from 11 AM – 1 PM at Greenview Funeral Home with a graveside service following with full military honors in Greenview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Frank Armstrong, Jr. Scholarship at The University of Alabama – Box 870122 Tuscaloosa, AL 35487. Frank Henry Armstrong, 86, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Greenview Funeral Home. The graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Greenview Memorial Park. He was the husband of Sandra Armstrong.
