Carol was born Aug. 8, 1944 in Racine, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Mildred Gothner. She married Richard D. Staley on April 19, 1986 in Chicago. He survives.
She is also survived by four children, Steve Stublaski, Bill (Chrissy) Stublaski, Tammy (Brian) Culhane and Eric (Gina) Staley and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John and Tommy Gothner.
Carol received her associate's degree in nursing from Harper College in Schaumburg and worked as a registered nurse in Illinois, Florida and North Carolina.
Carol was a member of St. Patrick Church of Merna in Bloomington and the Women of Wonder religious group.
