Greenville – June Codelia Matteson Wagner, 90, a longtime resident of Williamston, widow of Loy E. Wagner, died Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Born in Reidville, she was a daughter of the late Frank C. and Grace Cox Matteson. A graduate of Parker High School, she was a homemaker and member of Williamston First Baptist Church. In October, June celebrated her 90th birthday with her children and several extended family members. She enjoyed a visit from her entire immediate family on Thanksgiving Day. She is survived by daughter, Patrice Wagner Alley (Wade) of Charlotte, NC; sons, Richard C. Wagner and Stephen L. Wagner of Greenville and Christopher C. Wagner of Williamston; grandchildren, Betsy Alley Conway (Chris) of Charlotte, NC, Jonathan Wade Alley (Jeanne) of Raleigh, NC, Julia Catherine Wagner of Williamston and Coleman Jackson Wagner of Williamston; and great-grandson, Carrick Wade Alley. She was predeceased by her sister, Dora M. McDaniel. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
