"Kamiel DeMeulemeester passed away Sunday afternoon at Veterans' Adminstration Hospital. Age 72 years. He was born July 18, 1887, in Waregem, Belgium, and came to the United Sates in 1910 to Merrill. He served in the U.S. Army during WWI. On May 5, 1920, he married Anna Teirlynck in Waregem, Belgium. She survives him. They lived in Merrill until 1924, when they came to Saginaw. He was employed at the Lufkin Rule Co. for nine years, retiring in 1946, and later was self-employed as a building contractor. The deceased was a member of St. Stephen's Church. Besides his wife, he leaves one daughter and one son, Mrs. Otto Steinpress, and Julius Delemeester, both of Saginaw; five grandchildren; also three brothers and two sisters, Julius DeMeulemeester, Merrill; Taefel DeMeulemeester, Mrs. Zulma Desmet, both of Ansegen Belgium; Aloysius DeMeulemeester, Waregem, Belgium; Mrs. Maria DePaepe, living in France.
Funeral service will take place at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Case Chapel, 10 a.m. at St. Stephen's Church. Rev. Fr. Charles Mahoney will officiate, with burial in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 7 p.m. Monday, where they will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday to say the Rosary."
