A native of Oakland, Ca, she has lived locally since the age of two. Mrs. Chaney was a shipping clerk for McGraw Hill for over 20 years.
Mrs. Chaney was a longtime parishioner of St. Angela Merici Church where she was active in Catholic Daughters and the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West.
Mrs. Chaney was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Rudolph (Rudy), in 2000. She is survived by her son, Guy and his wife, Linda Chaney of Pacific Grove and her daughter, Jaynette and her husband, Joe Glade of San Jose; her sisters, Charlotte Williby of Monterey and Carmelita Baum, of Salinas; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews and her Godson, Rocco Brown of Monterey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Angela Merici Church on Friday, November 3, 2006 at 10AM followed by burial at Mission Memorial Park under the direction of The Paul Mortuary.
