Richard J. "Dick" Klansnic, 92, of Cottage Grove passed away Jan. 26, 2015.

He was born Jan. 24, 1923 in Enumclaw, Wash. to John and Christine Puttman Klansnic.

Dick attended Crain Elementary School in Enumclaw and graduated from high school in 1941. He attended Washington State University and served in the Army as a bombardier in WWII.

Richard worked for Weyerhaeuser for over 30 years. Prior to retiring, he was the Maintenance Superintendent of the entire Cottage Grove Weyerhaeuser plant.

Richard was an avid golfer. He enjoyed golfing with his wife of 50 years, Margaret Ann (Pug). She passed away in 1998. He loved fishing with his friends and often took his grandsons with him. You could also see him over the years building beautiful furniture. After the loss of his first wife, he married Caroline Turpin 14 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline (Turpin) Klansnic, his three children, Stephen Klansnic, Sr., Thomas Klansnic, and Susan Klansnic Rikala, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a sister, Lorie of Renton, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Ann Klansnic, a brother, James Klansnic, and a sister, Cecelia Richter.

Burial at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Eugene.
