Jessie joined Union Hill Baptist Church in 1946 under the leadership of the Rev. R. C. Clay where she was active in the Sunday School and Church. She recently joined Greater Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Russell Neal.
Later she moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she lived for thirty Years then moved back to Arkansas and relocating in Hope where she worked for Tyson Foods until she retired.
She was a fun loving person, many people enjoyed hearing her talk. She was a sharing person and was well known for her sweet potato pies. Jessie was fondly called (fat) by family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; one son Bobby Ray Haynes; two Brothers: Joseph Haynes and Paul Haynes; three sisters: Queen Ester Haynes Barker, Mildred Jewel Haynes Raglon, and Elizabeth Haynes Dirks .
She is survived by five brothers George W. Haynes of Albion, Michigan, A. C. Haynes Celia) of Montgomery, Alabama, Milton Haynes (Gail) of Hope, Arkansas, Rev. William Haynes (Betty) of Hope, Arkansas, and Willie Haynes (Linda) of Hope, Arkansas,
and four sisters: Willie Mae Johnson of Albion, Michigan, Fannie Hester of Lewisville, Arkansas, Annie Haynes of Lewisville, Arkansas, and Georgia Marie Phillips of Hope, Arkansas;
one sister-in-law Pearlie Mae Haynes of Albion, Michigan, a special friend Verna Mae Perry of Hope, Arkansas one aunt Viola Haynes Williams of Houston, Texas
five grandchildren and a host of nieces nephews cousins other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Jessie “Fat” Haynes age 80 of Hope, Arkansas will be held in the Chapel of Brandon’s Mortuary, Inc. 2912 Highway 29 North Hope, Arkansas with Rev Russell Neal eulogist and Rev. Tommy Law Officiating.
Burial will be in St Mary Cemetery with services provided by Brandon’s Mortuary, Inc.
