He attended St. Mark's Episcopal Church in New Britain and was a member of the CT Forest and Park Association (CFPA). His passion for history caused him to frequent many historical societies throughout Connecticut. Daniel was in the process of completing his life work, a historical novel.
Beside his mother Juliet, he leaves his fiancée and the love of his life, Cathy Haberern of New Britain; two brothers, Christopher Benjamin and his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Sharpe, both of Berlin; and Joseph Benjamin Jr. and his wife Susan of Harrisburg, PA; a niece, Larissa Benjamin; a nephew, Joseph "Jake" Benjamin III; and many friends.
Funeral services are Saturday 10 AM at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 147 West Main Street, New Britain. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. Calling hours are Friday 5 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain.
