Gordon A. Low, 71, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 at Baystate Medical Center, with his family by his side. Born January 17, 1944 in Quantico, Virginia, son of the late Gordon and Alice (Favreau) Low, he was a graduate of Chicopee High School and Westfield State College. He served as a Corporal in the US Marine Corps, earning the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and the Pistol Marksman Badge. Gordon was employed at Uniroyal and Jarvis East, Palmer, prior to retirement, and then enjoyed working part-time as a starter at Chicopee Country Club. A communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop & Martyr, he was also a member of the Chicopee Lodge of Elks 1849 and the Tigers AC. Gordie enjoyed watching all sports but his great love was the game of golf, which he played from an early age until he was no longer able to. Gordon will be forever missed by his beloved wife of forty-five years, Dorothy (Bozek) Low; his loving sons, Matthew (Patrice) and Andrew (Suzann); and brother James (Linda). He will dearly miss his beautiful grandchildren, Abigail, Benjamin, Olivia and Maxwell. Funeral services for Gordon will be held Friday at 8:30AM from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Committal services with Military Honors will follow in the chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.
