NANCY Y. ROCKWELL

Nancy Yvonne Rockwell of Winfield, formerly of Fenton, Mich., went to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015.

She is survived by her loving husband, John "Jack" M. Rockwell Jr. They would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on Jan. 25. She is also survived by son, John M. Rockwell III of South Bound Brook, N.J.; daughter and son-in-law, Laura E. Moss and Robin L. Moss of South Charleston; sister, E. Bernice Cullen of Boynton Beach, Fla.; brother, Robert P. Muench of Stanley, N.C.; granddaughter and husband, Leah D. Sparks and Stephen Sparks of South Charleston; granddaughter, Maria Moss Davidson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and great-grandchildren, Stephen "Connor" Sparks and Olivia T. Sparks of South Charleston, Daniel L. Davidson and Delainey G. Davidson of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Nancy was preceded in death by father and mother, Walter Eugene and Rose B. Muench; sisters, Mary Lou Hopkins and Doris G. Muench; brothers, S. David Muench and W. Eugene Muench; and daughter, Dawn M. Rockwell.

Nancy was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born in Gettysburg, Pa., on Dec. 10, 1937. She grew up in Emmitsburg, Md., and worked in her father's restaurant known as the Swiss Chalet.

Later Nancy worked as a manual switchboard operator for the phone company in Gettysburg. She then met the love of her life, Jack, while he was in the Army and stationed at Camp David, Md. They spent many years in Michigan and raised three children there.

The neighborhood kids loved to hang out at the Rockwell house because Nancy always had cookies or some other treat to share.

She loved to go to their summer cabin on the Cedar River in Michigan, which is actually a beautiful little trout stream. Nancy and Jack loved to shop for and buy antiques together. She later became an avid Anaheim Ducks Hockey fan and followed their games regularly.

Nancy is remembered by her family as a problem solver, and was always ready and willing to try and help you with any problem you might have. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Good Shepherd Mortuary, 335 Fifth Ave., South Charleston, and the funeral will also be held there at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
