Shoots Self In Hobart
Wife of Police Chief Traeger Suicide; Ill Health Said Cause
Memorial services were held this afternoon at Hobart for Mrs. Edith Marie Traeger, 49, wife of Hobart's chief of police, Frank Traeger.
Mrs. Traeger killed herself Wednesday with her husband's 45 caliber service revolver.
News of the fatal shooting was not circulated and it was late Wednesday night before many Hobart citizens heard of her death. Despondency over ill health and worry over her soldier's son, Richard, whom she had seen only once in a year, was given as the cause of her rash act.
Besides the husband and son, she is survived by a daughter, one brother and three sisters.
