A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late William and Lucinda King Casada. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Jacqueline Bradley Casada, and by 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Mr. Casada was a WW II veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church, where he served as song leader, deacon, and Sunday School teacher.
Mr. Casada is survived by his wife, Lucille "Cill" Meadows Casada; daughters, Joyce Fender and husband Levi, and Darlene Stratton and husband David; grandchildren Timothy Fender and Shannon Ward and husband Derrick; great-grandchildren Sammy Jo Ward and Christian Ward; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Highland Baptist Church, with the Revs. Glen Reid, Truman Revis, and Gene Turner officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave.
