Aletha D. Adams, 90, of Prairie Village, KS, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015. A visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 AM Saturday, January 31, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 7231 Mission Rd. Prairie Village, KS 66208. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:30 AM. Entombment in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions to St. Ann Catholic Church.

Aletha was born November 15, 1924, on a farm near Callao, MO. She worked in the office and as an Airline Stewardess for TWA. She married John L. Adams in 1951. After marriage she was a Girl Scout leader, Den Mother for Cub Scouts and was involved in Boy Scouts. She was a member and past officer for ACCW and NCCW. She was instrumental in starting the Respite program for the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas 29 years ago. She was also a member of DAR, TWA Retirees Club, Clipped Wings and she helped start the funeral luncheons at St. Ann Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Ada (Lea) Burk, 6 siblings: Grace Braxton, JW Burk, Howard Burk, Ruby Gibson, DeWayne Burk, Marie Turner and son-in-law David Ekholm. Aletha is survived by her husband, John Louis Adams, 3 children: Diana Ekholm, Windom, KS, Nancy Adams, Prairie Village, KS, Steven (Casey) Adams, Jacksonville, FL, sister Lois Barron, San Pedro, CA, 6 grandchildren: Alicia, Erin, Derek (Katie), Kristin, Connor, Skylar and a large extended family.
