Arthur Joseph Paul, 77 of Rexburg, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. He was born August 20,1937 at Clayton, Idaho to Margaret Jean Speers and John Burroughs Paul. Arthur graduated from Challis High School in 1957.
He lived a short while in California and then moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was in the US Army and served eighteen months in Vietnam. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He married Therba Jeppson on June 8,1965 in the Idaho Falls LDS temple.
He graduated from Colorado State University in Pueblo, Colorado in January of 1973. He began teaching shop and woodworking in Colorado Springs in the fall of 1973 and in 1976 He and Therba moved back to Idaho where he taught at the Bonneville Jr. High School in School District 93. He enjoyed working with his students until he retired in 2005.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Therba Paul of Rexburg, a brother, Walter Paul, a sister, Evelyn "Dolly" McCury and a sister-in-law, Thelma Paul.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Rexburg 11th Ward (590 Summerwood Drive) with Bishop Kory Lofthouse officiating. Family and friends may call at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery with military rites.
