Keith Bates, aged 78, born January 11, 1936, died December 27, 2014 after a long battle with ALS disease.

Keith grew up in Seattle and later lived in Bellingham, Santa Rosa CA, and Tacoma. An avid Cessna pilot, hiker, and member of Cascade Bicycle Club, he stayed very active until the past few years.

He is survived by his daughter, Andrea; grandson, Daniel Ammons; his brothers: David Bates, of Anchorage, AK, and Richard Riddle, of Wenatchee, WA; and nephews, Michael and Kenneth Bates, of Honolulu, HI.

Keith will be remembered for his intelligence, friendliness, and quick wit.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 4 at 12:45p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
