He was born on February 13, 1936 to Floyd and Omeria Lowry in Okolona, Ms. He graduated from Greenwood High School and attended Sunflower Junior College, Mississippi State University, and in 1961 graduated from Auburn University as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He worked for USDA Veterinary Services for 37 years. He married his wife, Virginia (Ginny) Luckett on June 4, 1960 in Greenwood, Ms.
He is survived by wife Ginny, son Luckett Lowry (Regena) of Wimberley, Tx., daughter Katy Wilson (Wayne) of Highland Village, Tx., son Patrick Lowry of Wimberley, Tx., brother David Lowry (Evelyn) and sister Annie Glo Anderson. Eight grandchildren, Cody Wilson, Lindsay Smith (Cal), Jayson Lowry (Lindsay), Jamie Lowry, Emily Lowry, Claire Lowry, Gracie Lowry, Maggie Lowry and 5 great-grandchildren, Kinsler, Colter and Tatum Smith, and Brooklyn and Finley Lowry. He is preceded in death by parents Floyd and Omeria Lowry, son Cliff Lowry, brother Carl Lowry and other much-loved family members.
Bill loved tinkering around in the yard and garage and he could fix any and everything. He was a wealth of information and the one you called if you needed to know just about anything. He loved antiques, especially old cars. When he retired, he and Ginny bought a Model A Ford Coupe and joined the Lone Star Model A Club of Georgetown where they enjoyed many adventures with friends. He also bought a Model A Ford Victoria so his beloved, late son, Cliff, could ride along too.
The most important thing to Bill was his family. His wife Ginny was the love of his life and he treasured his time with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
There will be a small graveside service for the family on Wednesday, November 24th at Cook Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville at 11:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital at stjude.org or a charity of your choice.
