"Funeral services for Theora I. Heller age 90 of Wisner, NE will be on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. Interment will be in the Wisner Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present, at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and will continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Theora passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha, NE.
Theora Ilene Heller was born on April 23, 1924, south of Wisner, NE to William and Emma (Hass) Eggers. She was baptized on May 29, 1924 and later confirmed on April 10, 1938 at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Wisner, NE. Theora attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School through the 8th grade. On August 23, 1942, she was united in marriage to Herman M. Heller at the Zion Lutheran Church. The couple farmed south of Wisner until moving to town in 1971 and in 1975 they moved to a place north of Wisner. After Herman passed away on October 25, 1985, Theora worked at Hoover’s Café, Chadwick’s, Wisner Bakery and the Senior Center in Wisner. She also did in home care for Warren Johnson.
Since 1966, Theora was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. She also belonged to the Merry Widows, and a Red Hat group. Theora enjoyed quilting as she made over 100 quilts, she enjoyed sewing, baking, singing with her children and grandchildren, watching baseball and Nebraska Football.
