Jackie Leon "Jack" Wood was born in Delaware, Arkansas August 3, 1934. He was the owner of Jack Wood Insurance Agency until he retired in 1985. Prior to starting his own business he worked for Western Electric as an installer and he and Lillian purchased a travel trailer and traveled from state to state for his job. He would take his new family with him when he had a job out of state. After retirement he opened a game room in southwest Oklahoma City and named it for his trusted companion, his Boston Terrier, Suzi.

He met Lillian Ingram in 1955 in Oklahoma City. He knew she was "the one" and married her after a very short courtship. He was happily married to her for 60 years and would thank her often for caring for him during his illness. They had three children, Eddie Wood of Oklahoma City, Ricky Wood of Warwick, OK and Sabrina Sublett of Oklahoma City. Jack and Lillian had seven grandchildren, Lori Sublett, Ashlee Wood Espinosa, Wesley Wood, Jeffrey Wood, Ryan Wood, Shea Sublett Wyatt and Cody Wood. In December he was blessed to hold his first great grandchild, Bella Wood.

Jack was born to Earnest and Vina Wood and was the youngest of eight children. He had four brothers, Leslie, Calvin, James , Earnest and three sisters. Sadie, Audie and Tess which all preceded him in death. Jack was also preceded in death by his grandson Wesley.

Jack's father passed away when he was very young and that shaped the father that he became.

In his early years he liked taking his family to the lake and camping. He bought an acreage in 1973 and his hope was to have all of his children to build on it and be close to hi m. He enjoyed Lillian cooking for the family and having weekend dinners. After retirement, he enjoyed going to the club and playing pool and shuffleboard with his friends and he would win most of the time.

He was diagnosed with dementia a few years ago and his activities changed to Lillian taking him to the casino once a week and taking him to Walmart every day where he would visit with the workers and customers, it helped to keep him alert and get exercise.

His life was filled with many happy days. He believed in hard work and then play. He was a caring man, an honest man with great character. He passed peacefully with his loving wife and children by his side. He will be greatly missed.
