Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday at Barbot Funeral Home, Hazen.
Harriet was born on March 30, 1918 to Clarence Sr. and Bella (Nelson) Foss at the family farm, south of Hazen. She was baptized on September 1, 1918 and confirmed in 1934, both at English Lutheran Church. Harriet attended country school until eighth grade and attended one year of school at Hazen High School. At the age of 26, Harriet married Glenn Clark on February 23, 1944 at English Lutheran Church. The couple had three children, Bonnie, Sharon and Wayne. They made their life on the farm until 1973, when a fire claimed their home and they moved to Hazen. Harriet continued to live her life fully after the death of her husband in December 1992. She moved into the Senior Suites, Hazen in January 2010 and later into Knife River Care Center on October, 31, 2012.
Harriet was always a woman on the move. She was involved with the Happy Homemakers Club, Ladies Aid and Tops. She was very active on the farm and enjoyed helping her neighbors whenever she could. She played basketball as a young girl, enjoyed bowling, dancing and attending Curves until the age of 90. In the 1950s and 1960s, Harriet and Glenn were often found at dances held at their farm. Harriet also had a skill for card games and was often lucky at bingo. She liked to spend time with her friends enjoying afternoon coffee and always said “you need to be a friend to have a friend”. Harriet loved to laugh until she cried with a wonderful sense of humor.
Harriet is survived by her three children, Bonnie Clark of Bismarck, ND, Sharon (Sandy) Eastham of Dripping Springs, TX, and Wayne (friend, Jody) Clark of Hazen; three grandchildren, Toby (Jody) Weisz of Great Falls, MT, Trina Johnson and Mandi (Josh) Merkel both of Bismarck; three great-grandchildren, Sydney, Britton and Ethan; one brother, Clarence (Marcella) Foss, Jr.; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Foss of Hazen; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn; four sisters, Clasta Miller, Beatrice Drath, June Clark and Doris Schwab; one brother, Ellsworth Foss; one son-in-law, Lawrence Weisz; and one daughter-in-law, Monica Clark
