Mr. and Mrs. S. P. SORENSEN, Mount Pleasant, Enjoy Anniversary.
MOUNT PLEASANT -- Mr. and Mrs. S. P. SORENSEN, pioneer residents of this city, quietly celebrated their golden wedding day at their home Tuesday. While no formal celebration could be held because of Mrs. SORENSEN's health, many friends and associates called at the home to extend felicitations on the happy occasion.
Mr. SORENSEN was born near Copenhagen, Denmark, April 23, 1854. After embracing the LDS faith in his native land, he came to Utah in 1866 and has been a resident of Mount Pleasant continuously ever since. He has always been a prominent farmer here.
Mrs. Agnes Jensen SORENSEN was born in Mount Pleasant, October 10, 1860. She is the daughter of the late Christian and Caroline JENSEN, who came to Utah from Denmark in 1849.
Mr. and Mrs. SORENSEN were married in the Endowment House in Salt Lake, May 06, 1880.
Their children are Edward SORENSEN of Teton, Idaho; Mrs. S. H. NELSON and Mrs. R. Dean TELVES of Salt Lake, Mrs. A. A. HALLIDAY of Provo, Mrs. A. A. LASsen of Indianola, Mrs. F. A. WAGNER of Los Angeles, California, Ray SORENSEN of Eureka and Leo SORENSEN of Magna, and a grandson, whom they have reared, Harold HANSEN of Mount Pleasant. They also have thirty grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. SORENSEN has been an active Relief society teacher and worker in the North Ward for more than a quarter of a century. Mr. SORENSEN has always been an active worker in the Republican party and has been a member of Mount Pleasant lodge, No. 20, I.O.O.F., for 24 years, having served this lodge in several official capacities, the last eight years as treasurer.
Until last fall, both Mr. and Mrs. SORENSEN had been active in their home and in public and religious service, but both have been ill this winter, curtailing many of their former activities.

Agnes SORENSEN of Mount Pleasant, died at a Salt Lake hospital early Tuesday morning.
She was born in Mount Pleasant in 1862.
She is survived by her husband, S. P. SORENSEN; three sons, Edward, of Teton, Idaho; Ray, of Eureka, Utah, and Leo, of Magan; four daughters, Mrs. Sterline H. NELSON and Mrs. R. Dean TWELVES of Salt Lake; Mrs. Arthur HALLADAY, of Provo, and Mrs. Frederick WAGNER, of Mount Pleasant.
