Sara Yates Cook, 84, died Monday, January 26, 2015. Born in Cheraw, SC she was the daughter of the late Daniel Clyde and Eula Jane Hathcock Yates. She was the widow of John Edward Cook, Jr. She was retired from Crown, Cork and Seal. She had been a member of Mt. Olivet UMC and First UMC both in Cheraw, SC. She was a member of the Kinsey Mulloy Sunday School Class, and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. She loved spending time with family.

Surviving are her daughters, Janice T. (Crawford) Moore of Summerville, SC, Diane T. (Larry) Teal of Rincon, GA, a step-daughter, Annette Cook of Columbia, SC, a brother, Thomas C. Yates of Gastonia, NC, grandchildren, Becky Moore, Katie Moore, Eric Teal, Mark Teal, and a sister-in-law, Betty Yates of Cheraw, SC.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above also her first husband William Robert Turnage and brothers, James W. Yates and Harrison Yates.

The family will receive friends 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Cheraw, SC.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery, Cheraw, SC.
