Emily Burns Conrad passed away on January 24, 2015 at the age of 61. She was born on February 6, 1953 in Greencastle, Indiana. Emily grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended Oak Hills High School (class of 1971), where she met the love of her life and husband, Richard “Rick” Conrad. Emily and Rick were married on July 6, 1974. For 46 years, they were inseparable. Emily was Rick’s best friend, confidant, and trusted co-pilot both in life and on the water.

Family and friends remember Emily for the way she radiated joy and happiness and for her hilarious sense of humor. She was a true lover of life! Even in death, Emily brought life to others by donating her organs and saving the lives of at least three people. Emily simply brought beauty to the world. She ran her own interior decorating business, bringing warmth to hundreds of Cincinnati homes. Emily loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener. In 2009, Emily and Rick were awarded the first ever Beautification Award by the City of Montgomery.

She is preceded in death by her father Charles Gilbert, and her mother, Mary Florene “Flo” Meyer, whom she and Rick loving cared for in her home during the final ten years of Flo’s life. Emily is survived by her husband, Richard Conrad; her sister, Barbara (George) Wise and their sons Charles and Dalton; her stepbrother Tom (Teri) Meyer and their daughters Megan, Danielle, Lauren and Ellie; her aunt and namesake Emily Gilbert Burns and numerous stepsiblings, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Kenwood Country Club, 6501 Kenwood Road, Cincinnati, OH 45243, on Friday, January 30th at 10:00AM, with a Memorial Service at 11:00AM and celebration to immediately follow. Walker Funeral Home assisting the family. www.HerbWalker.com
