Frank W. Marr SR, 82, of Green forest, AR passed away Friday December 26, 2014. The son of Henry Hutton and Bernice (Bartlett) Marr was born in Rexford, Kansas on June 26, 1932.

On November 6, 1954 he married Donna (Holloman) Marr and to this union 5 sons were born.

Frank served his country in the United States Army and retired after more than 20 years of dedicated and faithful service. While in the military, Frank was awarded numerous medals and commendations including two Bronze Stars Medals from Vietnam and four Army Commendation Medals. Frank was a patriot and always supportive of his country and troops.
He was an active member of VFW Post 7518. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Frank enjoyed woodworking and outdoor activities.
He is survived by his sons, Frank Marr and wife Debbie of Green Forest, Darrin Marr of Green Forest, Steve Marr of Republic, MO Craig Marr of Green Forest, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, sisters, Phyllis Smith and husband Dick of Plymouth IL, Opal, Diane Oliver and husband Ron of Eugene, Oregon, Betty Nooner and husband Bob.
Besides his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Donna Marr and one son Larry Allen Marr.
A memorial gathering to honor and celebrate Frank’s life will be 5-7 PM Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest.
Frank will be buried beside his wife, Donna at Alton Cemetery in New Mexico at a later date.
