Old James Young is a familiar and peculiar form which has been seen upon the streets of Mount Pleasant, in good or bad weather, for years past. His snow hair and grizzled beard, his bent form and dragging step did not at all belie the fact that he was nearly a hundred years old. Death has claimed the old gentleman, at the age of 93 years, and the familiar figure will be seen no more. "He was not born to be killed," was more than once verified in the career of this old man. He has met with several accidents, which were at the time considered fatal, but he lived to see close to the century mark, death coming peacefully, and Mr. Young sank into a peaceful slumber, without apparent pain. Old age was the cause of death. He leaves children whose heads are white as snow.
