Bess "Bessie" Russell, 96, of Elizabeth, passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, in Lakeview Personal Care Home in Darlington. Born July 5, 1918, in Large, she was a daughter of the late James Trumbo and Dora (Rhodes) Trumbo, and wife of the late William Russell, who passed away June 29, 2002. Bessie enjoyed toll painting and woodcarving. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (George) Hart, of Salt Lake City, Utah; her five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; also survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Wilma Brnilovich; and brother, Ross Trumbo. No visitation is scheduled. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, in the PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 221 N. Second St., Elizabeth, PA 15037, 412-384-4344, with the Rev. Jude Urso officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson United Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Jefferson Hills.
