Job received a certificate from Concord Monthly Meeting in Pennsylvania to Hopewell Monthly Meeting in Virginia in 1791 and was married to Rebecca Long at Middle Creek Monthly Meeting in 1794. Rebecca, of Frederick County, Virginia, was the daughter of Owen and Lydia Long. They resided for a few years in Berkeley County, Virginia before removing in 1797 to Redstone, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. His first wife passed away, and Job married 2nd Rebecca Vail Burnett, widow of John Burnett. Rebecca was the daughter of Stephen and Mary Vail.

His second wife passed away before 1805, when he moved with his two children from his first marriage and his two stepdaughters, Rachel and Mary Burnett, to Miami, Ohio. He purchased a farm in Clinton County, Ohio in 1807, and married a third time to Elizabeth Nicholson Reynolds, widow of Mr. Reynolds and daughter of Joab and Isabella Nicholson of Erie County, Pennsylvania in 1810. Elizabeth had two children from her first marriage, Jeremiah N. Reynolds and Isabella Reynolds. Stepson Jeremiah would later take a voyage around the world in 1831-1834. His journals from this voyage remain with descendants.
