Jo Anne Outten of Dover, age 73, surrounded by her loving family, passed away on 18 August 2014, after fighting a courageous battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). She was born in Hickman, DE, the daughter of the late Frank and Viola Breeding. She worked as an accounting technician for almost 16 years at the Dover Air Force Base Commissary. She retired along with her husband in December 1996. Following her retirement, she and her husband spent the winters in Daytona Beach, FL where they enjoyed the company of many friends playing cards, bingo, shopping, traveling and riding on their Harley Davidson Road King Classic.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Everett R. Outten, two daughters Cheryl L. Sipple and Laura J. Miller, a son Stephen E. Outten, three sisters Blanche Horney of CT, Marian Tull of Bridgeville and Nancy Smith of Dover, and six grandchildren, Jay, Elliott and Kyle Outten, Colby and Justin Miller and Jennifer Zeller and one great grandson, Carson Outten. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Dale Outten, two sisters, Althea Messick and Yvonne Algier and two brothers Paul and Allen Breeding.

Funeral services will be held 11 am, Friday, August 22, 2014, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; where family and friends may view from 10 - 11 am. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. Donations can be made in her honor to VITAS Hospice, www.VITAS.com/community or to ALS research, www.alsa.org
