Mr. James Robert Gooch 81, of Yuma, Tennessee passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Bro. Don McKee will officiate the service. The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of service. Mr. Gooch was born March 26, 1933 in Carroll County, Tennessee to the late Leon and Burline (Bolen) Gooch. He was retired from the United States Air Force; he was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Vietnam Police Association, Air Force Sergeant’s Association, Air Force Security Police Association and was a Korean and Vietnam Veteran. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Grover “Bo” Gooch and a nephew, Gary Bolen Gooch. He is survived by one sister, Jean McKee; one niece, Leanne Pritchard (husband Ward) both of Yuma. He also leaves two great nieces, Kelli Sellers Noles and Kennedy Pritchard.
