James C. "Jimmy" Merriman joined our Lord and Savior in Heaven on January 24, 2015.
Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with entombment to follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:30 PM until 7 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , a favorite charity, or to the Building Fund at Bethany Baptist Church, 365 Pea Ridge Road, Juliette, GA 31046.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Victor "Vic" Merriman; his parents, Robert Lee and Lillian Merriman; two sisters and two brothers. Mr. Merriman was born in Hahira, GA and resided in Macon most of his life but had moved to Forsyth. He retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base where worked in logistics management and felt quite rewarded in being a part of the Satellite Launching Program and retired after thirty-four years. Mr. Merriman served in the Navy during the war aboard the Mount McKinley communications ship. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 66 years, Mona C. Merriman; his granddaughter, Ashleigh Merriman Ledeber; his great-granddaughter, Shelby Leigh Ledeber; his in-laws and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery has charge of arrangements.
