Judith Chard Knapp, 69, of Ridgefield, formerly of Greenwich, wife of Charles H. Knapp, died on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Danbury Hospital. Judy was born in Greenwich, CT, May 5, 1945, a daughter of the late Howard T. and Marie (Scully) Chard.

She attended Greenwich schools, graduated from Greenwich High School in the Class of 1963 and Katharine Gibbs School. She was a bookkeeper with various Ridgefield businesses and was also associated with her husband in the operation of Division Street Plumbing of Danbury.
A resident of Ridgefield since 1968, Judy was an active member of St. Mary Parish of Ridgefield, she was involved in years past in the Religious Education program and a former bookkeeper at St. Mary Cemetery. Her greatest role in life was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was everything to her. She will be sorely missed.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Amy Marie Knapp Sanders and her husband, Christopher of Norwalk; a son, Charles "Hank" Knapp, Jr. of Ridgefield; a brother, Howard T. Chard, Jr. and his wife, Caro of Solana Beach, CA; a sister, Susan C. Silver and her husband, Edward of Westerly, RI; four grandchildren, Peter and Grace Sanders and Kyle and Lauren Knapp as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends. A brother, Peter Chard as well as her parents, predeceased her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 10:15 am in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Wednesday from 5:30pm to 8:30 pm.
