He was born February 8, 1936, in Hannibal, MO, the son of John Thrasher and Alice Helen Bonnell Allen. On March 2, 1956, he was united in marriage to Dennie Lee Christine. She preceded him in death in 1993. He later married Lenora Berry on April 13, 1998. She survives.
Weldon is also survived by two children, Christy Allen and wife Sherry and Robyn Allen and wife Patricia both of Bethel, MO; two step-children, Ray Berry and wife Lissa of Bethel, MO and Michael Berry and wife Kolleen of Fenton, IA; four grandchildren, Hillary Willey and husband Derek, Mallory Allen, Nathan Allen and Hannah Kroeger and husband Mark; four step-grandchildren, Dustin Berry and wife Sarah, Brandi Balsamo and husband Beck, Randi Minear and husband Nathan and Eric Menke and wife Heather and sixteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Dennie Lee Allen and one son Wendell Allen.
Weldon was a 1954 graduate of Shelbyville High School and was a Baptist by faith. He was a grain and livestock farmer in the Bethel community. He enjoyed playing shuffle board and quail hunting. Weldon loved visiting with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at the Bethel Christian Church in Bethel, MO, with burial to follow at Shiloh Cemetery near Bethel. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO. Memorials may be made to Shiloh Cemetery.
