Jack Moss, 67, of Amarillo died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Jack Wayne Moss, 67, of Amarillo died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Ken Haney, chaplain of Interim Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Jack Wayne was born April 8, 1947, in Amarillo to Jack Donald and Nellie Jo Rexrode Moss. He married Sally Short on Aug. 30, 1968.

He grew up working with his father at Moss Automotive as soon as he could handle a broom. He worked in the parts department of Sid Stout Ford, managed a Pizza Hut, managed Moss Automotive, and earned certificates as a flight instructor, A&P Mechanic, single and multi-engine land and airplane instrument pilot. He retired from driving a bus for TNM&O Greyhound.

He was in the Army Reserves, Company C, 12th Special Forces, ABN, where he earned the Parachutist badge.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Joe Douglas Moss.

Survivors include his father, Jack D. Moss of Amarillo; his wife, Sally Moss; a son, Lindsey Moss and wife Misty of Amarillo; a daughter, Christi Hairston and husband Jon of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Ty and Jay Moss and Nora Cait Hairston, all of Amarillo; a sister, Sandra Hanna and husband Bill of Amarillo; and loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to Jack Wayne’s caregivers at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospice.

The family suggests memorials be to Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Foundation, to benefit the patients at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospice, 1600 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
