She was the daughter of the late Bernie Jacob Kluttz and Faye Holshouser Kluttz of Spencer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold James Byrd, Sr. on May 10, 2002, brother, Robert Lee Kluttz and sister, Peggy Kluttz Safrit.
Mrs. Byrd was employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company in Salisbury for ten years and retired from Rack Room Shoes in management.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Salisbury.
Mrs. Byrd was a Charter Member of the Classy Red Hats Society of Salisbury, volunteered at the W. G. Hefner VA Medical Center and a Charter Member of the Tri-County Scooters Line Dancing Club in Kannapolis.
Funeral service were conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Summersett Memorial Chapel.
Interment followed at Rowan Memorial Park.
