Mr. James Hydrick Ezell, 93, of Chesnee went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 25, 2015. A native of Spartanburg County, he was the loving husband to Louise Jolley Ezell for 68 years and the son of the late James Winston Ezell and Dora Smith Ezell. He retired from Duke Power after 36 years, was a long time, active member of Chesnee First Baptist Church and proudly served our country in the United State Navy during WWII, the battle of Normandy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Tommy Ezell (Sharon) of Chesnee and Johnny Ezell (Teresa) of Mayo; daughter in-law, Terry Ezell of Chesnee; sister, Eleanor Shields (Edward) of Chesnee; grandchildren, Jason Ezell (Amber), Shane Ezell (Ashley), Davy Bigford (Monica), Alison Wease (Scott), Staci Roberts (Kevin), Andrea Elliott (Rob) and Monica Floyd (Brett); and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Ezell and siblings, Hattie Ezell, Lucille and James Lee, Josephine and Claude Thompson, Nina Mae and Rabbit Moffitt, Betty and Lionel McDowell, Dewitt and Katharine Ezell, Dexter and Margaret Ezell and Eugene and Margie Ezell.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Stacey Cody for being a wonderful care taker and also, to Agape Hospice for their service.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Chesnee First Baptist Church with Dr. Gary Grogan and Dr. Troy Gregg officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving will be Shane Ezell, Jason Ezell, Davy Bigford, Kevin Roberts, Rob Elliott, Scott Wease and Brett Floyd.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chesnee First Baptist Church, 211 South Kentucky Ave., Chesnee, SC 29323 or Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, P.O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.

The family will be at the residence.
