From her obituary we read: "Kay became an active volunteer at Three Rivers Area Hospital and Immaculate Conception Church and the Red Hat Society. Kay and Jim co-founded the "Lights of Love" project. Kay and Jim fully embraced the Three Rivers Community and, in return, were embraced right back. She successfully raised eight teenagers maintaining her sanity with a great deal of prayer and more than a touch of humor! Later, her children would realize that the Baker Home provided a haven for many who just needed to know that someone cared about them. She died as she lived with grace and courage. All who knew her were better people because of it."
