Edna Pearl (Hermanson) Hanson, 88, of Stanley died Friday, January 23 in a Garrison Nursing home. Her funeral will be Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sybil Center with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both Stanley.

Edna was born January 10, 1927, to Anna and Henry Hermanson on their farm south of Ross, North Dakota. She attended school in rural Ross and graduated from Stanley High School in 1944. She worked as a secretary at Mountrail Electric where she met her husband. She married Harlan Hanson November 10, 1948 in Stanley.

On May 10, 1958 they adopted their only child Laurie. They lived in Stanley until 1960 and moved to Velva until 1962. They owned and operated a resort in Baudette, MN for a couple of years, later moving to Hazen, ND. In 1966 they returned to Stanley when Harlan became manager of Mountrail Electric Cooperative.

Edna worked for Alfred Holm and later Norman Mell Tax Services. She retired in 1983. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She entered the Mountrail Bethel Home in 2003 and in May 2014 was transferred to the Garrison Nursing Home.

Survivors: Daughter, Laurie Larson; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband Harlan and her siblings Ollie Hermanson, Alvina Olson , Ethel Baake, Ida Anderson, Esther Hynek, Johnny Hermanson, Harold Hermanson and Kenneth Hermanson.
