Virginia Ruth (George) Stanwick, the daughter of Harry and Viola (Baker) George was born July 2, 1929. She passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville, Iowa at the age of 81.
She received her education in the rural country schools. Virginia attended Jackson High School. Later, she earned her GED and Certificate from Office Education at Estherville Junior College.
On August 31, 1944, she was united in marriage to Parker Halverson in Jackson, Minnesota. Parker passed away April 15, 1967.
On September 19, 1975, she was united in marriage to Harold Stanwick. Harold passed away February 2, 2003.
Virginia was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Estherville.
Left to cherish Virginia's memory are her children, Craig Stanwick of Nevis, Minnesota; Jon Stanwick of Kannapolis, North Carolina; Martin Stanwick of Brookings, South Dakota; David Halverson of Champlin, Minnesota; George Halverson of Hayfield, Minnesota; Barbara Bieber of Hayfield; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She has been preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son, Arthur; four sisters and one brother.
In lieu of flowers, family prefers donation to the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville of the American Diabetes Society.
