BENJAMIN T. PIPER
Of 312 Hudson Ave., died at 2:20 p.m. yesterday in Mercy Hospital, where he was admitted July 24, after an extended illness. He was born in Alexandria Feb. 2, 1889, a son of Harry J (sic-Harris). and Emma Mary (Taylor) Piper, and married Nellie Leonard, who died in March 1952. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Helen Lockard, Mrs. Marian Reifsteck and Miss Marguerite of the city, and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Jaggard Memorial Methodist Church and retired as a welder-inspector for the P. R.R. in 1949 after 45 years of service. Friends may call at the Lafferty Funeral Home after 7 p.m. tomorrow.
