Could you been home with us, dear Mary, Where we for you could kindly care; But, oh! this privilege was not granted and oh! the grief we scarce can bear. We had thought to have you with us, To comfort our declining years; But our hopes were quickly blasted, And our eyes are blind with tears. And we miss you, sadly miss you, Oh, how sad to say good-bye! Yet, again we hope to meet you, Where there are no tears to dry. Then, farewell to you, kind parents, Brothers dear, a kind adieu; I am resting now with Jesus, - Waiting there to welcome you.
