Donald Walter Hollingsworth, age 73, of Rockford, IL went to be with his loving Savior on Tuesday January 6, 2015.

Born July 25, 1941 in Dixon, IL to Donald Stuart & Millie Hollingsworth (Ortgiesen).

His family of six loved music; and along with the extended family, enjoyed creating the Grand Old Jubilee Entertainers of Dixon and Davis Junction; where he played the guitar at the tender age of six. After high school, Don attended trade school to became a painter, piano tuner, and dance instructor. He married late in life; at age 40 to Judy Ann Wolff, to whom we were often told was "the best thing that could have happened to him". They resided in Rockford raising two kids over their 32 years of marriage. He was a passionate man about many things; his family, helping those in need in every way he could, but mostly about sharing Jesus's love with everyone who would listen. He also had a love for music, with an amazing voice and beautiful whistle; that was often requested.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Judy; children, John Hollingsworth and Amy (David) Lapthorne; 5 grandchildren that meant the world to him, Bryanna Hollingsworth & Hailey, Nate, Liam, and Rohan Lapthorne; as well as his youngest sibling of four, his little sister, Beth Cinue; and many loving nieces & nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents.

Funeral services to be held on Saturday January 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Gentle Shepherd Fellowship Church, 2905 Bildahl St., Rockford, IL; with visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Interment on Monday January 12, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon IL.
