Miss Melisa Hott Dies; The Service Here
Miss Melisa Hott, 62 years of age, a resident of Des Moines, Iowa, and former Senecan, died Saturday at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines after a short illness.

The body is being brought here, and the funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon of this week at the Lauer Funeral Home, at 2:00, conducted by Rev. Gene Taylor, followed by burial at the Seneca cemetery.

Miss Hott was a daughter of James and Lou Hott. She was raised in Seneca, by an aunt, Mrs. Laura Nelson. The family left here about 1912, it is believed, going from here to Hiawatha.

Miss Hott at one time owned properties in Seneca, including the building where the Style Shop and telephone office are now located.

There are not many relatives. Mrs. C. W. Crews of Clyde, Kansas, is a sister, and was here yesterday making the funeral arrangements.

In 1910 while living with her aunt, Laura E. Wheelock & husband Edward, at Hiawatha, she is listed as a grade school teacher.
1920 she is found in Fergus, Montana, Agent, college.
1935, 1940, 1945- Brookings, South Dakota. She had 5 years of college and was a Home Economics Supervisor for the Coop. Extension Services of the U. S. D. A.
