1910 Census of Hustonville, Lincoln Co, shows him age 54, married 35 yrs, wife Lillie, 55, 7 ch 2 living, son Robert, 30.

1900 Census, Turnersville, Lincoln Co, shows Josh, b Mar 1846, mar 22 yrs; Lillie, b 1850, 7 ch 3 living; James, 1877; Robert, b 1880; and Joseph, b 1888.

1880 Census, Turnersville, Lincoln Co, p14B shows:
Josh, 32; Lily, 28; Mary, 11; Ellen, 9; James, 7; Anna, 5; Robert, 3

He was married to Lillie Givens, who is probably buried in one three graves marked by fieldstones. She was killed by a train at an unknown date and location.

Death cert says he was son of Josh Williams, b Lincoln Co, and Mary Alcorn, b Turnersville, Lincoln Co, informant Lillie Graves of McKinney, Lincoln Co.

Lincoln County PVA, David Gambrel, adds:
Joshua Graves who served in Co G of the 8th USCHA, is actually buried on the old Adam "Ad" Turner farm on McKinney Ridge. It was the only marked grave I could find. This is different than the Givens Cemetery.
