Our beloved Wendy Lyn Martin-Gonsalves, of Bloomfield, NJ passed on Friday, November 28, 2014, following a sudden and acute illness. She was surrounded by family and friends with loving arms to guide her.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts Wendy was the treasured daughter of Julius Martin, Jr. and Marilyn Martin. She graduated from Brockton High School in 1978 and attended Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

In departing Wendy leaves a family that adores her including, her loving daughter, Robin Lyn Gonsalves, John Gonsalves, and siblings, Cory Martin, Tracey Martin and Kimberly Shirosky. She will be forever treasured by her niece Jillian, nephews, Cory Jr. and Kyle, godchild Alexander, as well as countless family and friends.

Wendy was a beacon of light in the lives of all she graced. Her smile, kindness, generosity and incredible ability to see the good in everything and everyone would take your breath away. She was a gardener, artist, great story teller, and the most amazing mother, sister and friend. She is the love of our lives. As a free spirit, she was happiest with her toes in the sand, looking out to the ocean, or watching shooting stars off the shores of Martha’s Vineyard. Wherever she felt she could fly she was at peace. But her greatest love, joy and pride was her daughter Robin Lyn. Quite simply, Wendy was a gift from God above -- An endearing example of how to live your life with joy, love and compassion for others. Words can’t possibly express how much she will be missed.
